Institute of High Pressure Physics

Effective April 1, 2026, the Institute of High Pressure Physics Polish Academy of Sciences (IHPP PAS / UNIPRESS) joins the ASPIRE program led by Professor Hiroshi Amano of Nagoya University.

ASPIRE (Adopting Sustainable Partnerships for Innovative Research Ecosystem) is a program of the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) that supports international research partnerships and researcher mobility. The accession of IWC PAS strengthens the project’s international collaboration in advanced semiconductor materials, with a particular focus on GaN and ultra-wide-bandgap materials.

The other participants currently involved in Professor Amano’s project include the University of Padova (Italy), the University of Bristol (United Kingdom), Cornell University, the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), the University of Maryland, Stanford University, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States.
