Research capabilities and technical data
The station consists of an NS500 (NanoSight) analyzer. The station for analyzing particle size in liquids using particle tracking analysis is used to determine the size distribution and numerical concentration of particles suspended in liquids. The method is based on recording the Brownian motion of individual particles illuminated by a laser beam and analyzing their trajectories using a camera and dedicated software. The hydrodynamic diameter of the particles is calculated based on the diffusion coefficient using the Stokes-Einstein equation. The method enables the analysis of nano- and microparticle samples and the evaluation of polydisperse samples. It is used in the study of nanomaterials, colloidal systems, and biological samples.
